A mathematical problem has been stated of radial external suffosion due to action of a small sink and an exact solution has been obtained at constant intensity. Deformation field structure and regularity of hydraulic conductivity change have been established. A number of effective approximate solutions to the problem have been found.

Essential difference has been ascertained in characteristic times of mass transfer and groundwater flow processes for perfect horizontal and vertical drains. Hydrodynamic deformations have been studied when falling drain discharge what facilitated intensive sedimentation of suspended particles and formation of a special zone.

Mobile particles movement has been considered when they were rejected from a small source. Deformation field structure, hydraulic conductivity and head losses have been analyzed taking into account additional resistance to groundwater flow from delaying mass flow.

An engineering method has been developed of calculating the volume of solid substance which was transported into a system of water intake elements as an example of pottery drainage. A component of general filtration resistance has been determined what allowed to take into consideration effect of hydrodynamic deformations on drying drains action and their parameters, first of all, drain space.

Comparison of theoretical and experimental results has been carried out which corroborated validity of the assumed mathematical models of hydrodynamic deformations and the calculated methods.
